2022 Chevy Equinox’s Makeover Enhances Already-Amazing Crossover With Dark Android Styling, Safety-Feature Update

Many eager families and successful young professionals here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis are in the market for a crossover right now, as another semester is over, and many aspects of the business world come roaring back to life. Just in time for what we usually see as the busiest season of the year and those proudly walking across the graduation stage, the 2022 Chevy Equinox boasts a thorough makeover, and the new sportier-looking SUV now boasts new safety features and reshaped front and rear fascias.

LED headlamps with a thinner appearance and a grille that now features chrome inserts are also included, and the new RS trim level dips the chain link grille in gloss black and adds black side rails and 19-inch wheels with the “Dark Android” version of styling. Inside the RS features red stitching on black leather upholstery, and there have also been upgrades to the suite of standard safety features that Chevy added last year with the inclusion of automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

Keeping you safe at all times during the impromptu coffee run or soccer practice is a surround-vision camera system, automatic parking assist, blind-spot alert, and rear cross-traffic warning. When navigating your way through your to-do list on the wheel, you’ll be deriving power from the 1.5-liter inline 4 turbo, paired with the choice of a 6 or 9-speed automatic. There are also the selection options of front-wheel or all-wheel drive, and this year sees the addition of Wireless Apple CarPlay/Wireless Android Auto.

Keeping you constantly entertained whether the trip is 15 minutes or hours long, Sirius XM Radio is also now standard on all equipment groups. The shift lever appearance is now chrome-trimmed, and the heated steering wheel is now standard on Premier models and included with Infotainment Package on LT models. The Infotainment II Package now includes the useful Chevy Infotainment 3 Plus system with connected Navigation, allowing you to reach your destination with the confidence and aid of the best modern technology has to offer.

One of the most appealing traits of the 2022 Equinox is its low entry price while still offering the various features that today’s drivers are adding to their wish list on entry-level trims. Anyone looking for something just a bit extra in the added luxury department should direct their attention towards the Premier Trim: here you enjoy enhancements courtesy of LED headlamps and tail-lamps, a new 19-inch machine faced wheel, a logo projection liftgate, and the unique visual touch of high black gloss finish on the console.
